- Curve has launched Curve Pay on the iOS operating system for European consumers, becoming the first payments technology to use the iPhone’s NFC interface following Apple Inc.’s agreement with the European Commission to open that interface to competing services.
- U.S. Bank has issued a Visa debit card cobranded with Gonzaga University and aimed at supporters of the school.
- In a move beyond peer-to-peer transfers, money-movement app Sling Money launched its Virtual Accounts service in the U.S. and European markets to allow users to receive payments for freelance or salaried work. The accounts are provisioned by Bridge, part of Stripe Inc.
- Business-management software provider cieTrade Systems Inc. announced an integration with Stripe Inc. to allow cieTrade clients to receive instant payments via credit card or automated clearing house transfers. Clients must set up a Stripe account.
- Affirm Inc. said it is expanding its collaboration with travel search engine Kayak into Canada. The two companies have worked together in the U.S. market since January 2023.
- Financial-technology firm Quant has launched Quant Flow, said to be a form of programmable money currently available as software to banks and companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
- Gateway Funnel Pros launched a credit card processing service aimed at entities that have been declined or shut off by gateways and merchant processors.
- The law firm Winston & Strawn LLP launched its financial innovation and regulation practice, which will work with the firm’s existing digital assets and fintech, banking, and payments groups.
- TSG (formerly The Strawhecker Group) hired Jon Lennon as its chief revenue officer. Lennon most recently was general manager and global head of enterprise payments at FIS.
- Sarah Perry has been appointed vice president of gaming operations for Pavilion Payments LLC, a processor specializing in that industry.
