Blackhawk’s EV and Grocery Cards and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/14/26

  • Payments and rewards platform Blackhawk Network said it will issue two Mastercard-branded products: the Drive Prepaid Card, aimed at EV adoption programs, test drive incentives, and other programs related to automobiles; and the Grocery Prepaid Card, meant for cost relief.
  • Polygon Labs, a blockchain-based payments company, announced agreements to acquire Coinme, a digital-currency exchange, and Sequence, a digital-wallet developer for digital currency, in a transaction valued at more than $250 million.
  • Consumers are moving in and out of subscriptions as their lives change, making cancellations less permanent than in the past, according to the “2026 State of Subscriptions”  report from the subscription-payment specialist Recurly Inc.
  • Payment processor PayNetWorx LLC said it has agreed to integrate cash-flow technology from Flowt to serve small and mid-size businesses in various industries. 
  • CryptoPay Ltd., a specialist in unattended payments for self-service car washes, has agreed to integrate the Coinless mobile loyalty app from Everwash Inc., with processing through MagTek Inc.’s Magensa Payment Protection Gateway.
  • Insight Enterprises, which advises firms on hardware and software integrations, said it is widening its work with Stripe Inc. in an effort to help companies boost checkout conversion and leverage AI-based commerce.
  • SpotOn Transact Inc., a specialist in dining commerce, announced it is the title sponsor for Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate, a fan festival held during the weekend of the Super Bowl.
  • Stablecoin-technology platform BVNK has agreed to process stablecoin-based payments for Visa Direct, Visa Inc.’s faster-payments network. BVNK handles $30 billion in stablecoin volume annually.
  • BookingCentral, whose technology supports bookings for rental and tour operators, has launched a mobile app aimed at boat-rental operators, enabling them to manage customer check-ins and check-outs, payments, and gratuities.
  • Accertify Inc. appointed Greg Dukat as its chief executive. Dukat was most recently CEO of Revel Systems. Accertify was acquired from American Express Co. in 2024 by Accel-KKR.
