American Express’s Rise in Billed Business and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 7/18/25

  • American Express Co. reported a 7% year-over-year rise in billed business in its June quarter, to $416.3 billion, while revenue increased 9% to a record $17.9 billion. But net income sank 4% to $2.89 billion. For the year’s first half, billed business rose 6% to $803.7 billion. Net income was static at $5.47 billion.
  • Self Storage Manager, a software provider for the self-storage business, has launched a system using interactive voice-response technology to accept payments from storage customers.
  • China’s UnionPay International payments network launched new offers for international travelers, including merchant discounts and cashback offers.
  • Citicorp and Ant International said they are testing Ant’s Falcon Time Series Transformer in an effort to develop better risk management in foreign exchange and support a wider range of payment technologies for airlines.
  • Pavilion Payments, a specialist in payments for the gaming industry, said it has acquired CasinoSoft, a provider of software for various gambling-related tasks, including compliance with anti-money laundering. Terms were not disclosed.
