- Payments provider Viewpost has agreed to work with Birchstreet, a provider of hospitality-industry technology, to include AI-enabled embedded payments for hospitality customers.
- Oak View Group, operator of a network of live-entertainment venues, will offer its employees earned-wage access service through Payactiv throughout Oak View’s U.S. operations, involving more than 40 locations.
- MassPay, a payment-orchestration platform, has agreed to offer money-movement services domestically and across borders to business clients of Piermont Bank.
- Even though 72% of finance executives say modernizing payments would solve their cash-flow challenges, only 21% have a modernized payments platform in operation, according to research by Fortis, a developer of embedded-payments technology. The research effort queried 100 senior finance professionals at small and medium-sized companies in the U.S. and Canada in the third quarter.
- Payments-software provider Flywire Corp. announced it has surpassed the 1-million mark in number of payment plans activated by students at institutions that use Flywire’s Student Financial Software. The default rate so far is under 2%, Flywire said.
- Hong Kong-based digital payments provider LianLian Global said it has a deal with PayPal Inc. that will enable its social-commerce, marketplace and e-commerce customers to send payouts directly to PayPal accounts globally and to PayPal’s Venmo accounts in the U.S.
- The Electronic Transactions Association announced two executive hires: Aimee Gabel as chief product and innovation officer and Divya Chopra as chief communications officer. Gabel most recently was a senior vice president at the U.S. Travel Association. Chopra worked for more than 12 years at social-media giant Meta.
