Worldnet TPS Adopts Quickchip Tech and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 8/7/18

  • Payments-systems provider Worldnet TPS Ltd. said it has integrated Quickchip technology into its GoChip line of point-of-sale products to enable one-second EMV chip card transactions.
  • Payments provider Shift4 Payments Inc. launched a management solution called Lighthouse Business Management System for clients using Shift4’s point-of-sale and payment-processing products. The new service includes capabilities for reporting, employee scheduling, remote POS management, and customer engagement.
  • GlobalOnePay, a unit of Pivotal Payments, released the GlobalOnePay Mobile point-of-sale service. Available for iOS and Android, the service supports EMV, magnetic stripe, and keyed transactions.
  • Business-to-business payments provider PayStand has integrated with bookkeeping-software platform Xero, which reportedly is used by more than 1 million small businesses. Among other things, the integration will allow business clients to accept card payments inside of sales orders and invoices.
  • In a deal that extends its business with independent software vendors, payment processor First Data Corp. said its BluePay gateway will be integrated into applications from Community Brands, a provider of cloud-based software for associations, nonprofits, schools, and faith-based groups.
  • As part of a $100-million fintech-investment plan, Visa Inc. said it has invested in Behalf, an Israeli startup that offers working capital to small businesses. The amount of the investment was not disclosed. Visa will offer Behalf’s clients a tokenized Visa Virtual Card, starting in the United States and expanding later to other markets.
  • Fleet-fueling payments provider WEX Inc. said it has renewed and expanded its agreement with Marathon Petroleum Corp. to operate Marathon’s commercial fuel card program.
  • Payments and financial-services advisory firm Mercator Advisory Group launched its Merchant Services practice area. Raymond Pucci, previously Mercator associate director of research services, will be director of the new practice.
  • Payments provider YapStone named Jerry Ulrich chief financial officer. Ulrich had been CFO of Blackhawk Network Holdings.
