TrustCommerce Announces an Integration and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/27/18

  • Captiva MVP Restaurant Partners LLC, operator of the PDQ fast-casual chain, reported that a hacker accessed its computer system through a technology vendor’s “remote connection tool” and may have compromised an undisclosed quantity of payment card numbers, cardholder names, expiration dates, and verification values. The breach, which affected all but three of the company’s 60-plus locations, began May 19, 2017, and continued until April 20. The company says it learned June 8 that card data may have been hacked.
  • Payment-services provider TrustCommerce announced that its TC Safe point-to-point data-encryption service is integrated with Epic Systems Corp.’s electronic health-record technology.
  • Credit-union services provider PSCU said it teamed up with Equips, an equipment manager for financial institutions, to offer ATM management services to clients.
  • Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) said it will provide processing, card-production, risk-management, and customer-service support for a new Mastercard issued by CreditShop LLC, a consumer-finance company.
  • Access Idaho, the official administrator of the state of Idaho’s Web portal, introduced Prompt Pay, a service that sends a link to citizens’ devices that allows them to pay sums owed to the state by entering card or checking-account information. The state says the effort is intended to remove its entities from the scope of the Payment Card Industry data-security standard.
  • Nextpayway, a platform serving the payments industry, has adopted the UP Commerce Payments solution from payments provider ACI Worldwide. The solution links to more than 350 card acquirers and alternative-payment methods and offers real-time fraud management.
  • Mastercard Inc. reported that a full slate of 14 directors was elected for a one-year term at its annual meeting held Tuesday.
  • Moviecoin, a blockchain startup that issues a cryptographic token intended to allow movie theaters to accept tokens for tickets and other goods and services, announced a slate of six strategic advisors.
  • Bloomberg reported that Facebook Inc. is loosening its ban on advertisements that promote cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, saying such content will be allowed on the social network after going through an application process to determine the safety and legitimacy of the products.
  • Fare-collection software developer Masabi Ltd. said it added Masterpass and Apple Pay to its options for paying fares with the Justride Bustang mobile app for Bustang, a bus service on Colorado’s Interstate 70 and I-25 corridors.
  • The Certificate Authority Security Council launched its so-called London Protocol, an initiative developed by five certificate authorities to improve identity assurance and minimize the possibility of phishing activity on Web sites.
