Payroc Buys POS Tech Developer and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 3/6/19

  • Payments provider Payroc LLC announced it acquired Detrok Technology Services, a developer of technology for point-of-sale, payment, and other functions in the hospitality industry. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Payments provider Powertranz said it and NCR Corp. integrated the Powertranz software development kit and payment gateway into the NCR Aloha point-of-sale system. Bluefin Payment System is supplying the encryption technology. Powertranz is a sister company to First Atlantic Commerce
  • PayRailz said Digital Federal Credit Union will use its services, enabling for the credit union’s 700,000 members a single platform for bill pay, person-to-person, and account-to-account services.
  • Mastercard Inc. said it will introduce what it calls its sonic brand identity at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational golf tournament in Orlando, Fla. The event begins Thursday. The sonic identity, announced last month, is a musical tone and will be heard on the grounds of the Bay Hill Club & Lodge and when cardholders pay at certain concessions
  • Alipay said it is working with SnapPay, a Canadian provider of payment-gateway services, to enable Alipay acceptance chainwide at FoodyMart, a Toronto-based supermarket. Alipay is a unit of China-based Ant Financial Services Group.
  • Blackhawk Network Holdings Inc. named Nick Samurkas chief operating officer, marking the first person to hold that role at Blackhawk. Samurkas previously worked at Moneris, Chase Paymentech, and Global Payments.
