Ziosk Inks Content Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs

The PCI Security Standards Council said it will publish version 3.2 of the Payment Card Industry data-security standard this Thursday.

Ziosk LLC, a provider of tablets for at-table payment in restaurants, announced deals with several entertainment providers for new content on its installed base of 170,000 devices.

A new study of 1,600 financial and retail executives by ACI Worldwide Inc. and research firm Ovum found that more than three-quarters of banks, retailers, and billing organizations plan to increase their spending on payment systems in the face of increasing competitive pressure and a feeling of being “under siege.”

Research from the U.K.’s Barclaycard indicates contactless transactions in that country grew 164% in 2015 over 2014. Transaction value increased 135%. Two chief reasons are an increase in the transaction limit from approximately $29 to approximately $44, as well as introduction of contactless payment to London’s transit system.

Retail software provider Starmount Inc. said it will offer its retailer clients in-store and e-commerce payment services from Aurus Inc.

Money transmitter Remitly Inc. closed on $38.5 million in Series C funding and made its service available to consumers in Canada.

Mobile-wallet provider NXT-ID says Gregory M. Johnson, who is head of business relationships at Capital One and a former American Express Co. executive, has joined its board of directors.

• The IFX Forum, an international non-profit that promotes the development and adoption of open, interoperable standards for financial data exchange, re-elected directors from NCR Corp., U.S. Bancorp, Microsoft Corp., and Oracle Corp.
