GlobalOnePay Expands UnionPay Service and other Digital Transactions News briefs

• Payment technology provider VeriFone Systems Inc. said it has integrated with the AirportConnect Common Use Payment Service from SITA, the big information-technology and communications specialist serving the air-transport industry, to bring electronic payment acceptance for multiple airlines and ground handlers at airport check-in desks, kiosks and bag drops via a single VeriFone device.

• GlobalOnePay, a division of Pivotal Payments Inc., announced it added UnionPay PIN-debit acceptance as a service.

• PayPal Holdings Inc. retains its title as “Brand of the Year” for mobile payments, though two Amazon.com Inc. brands follow close behind, according to a Harris Poll. The poll, which includes more than 100,000 consumers, also found Venmo (a PayPal property), Square, and Apple Pay rising fast. Factors in the brand survey are familiarity, quality, and purchase consideration.

• Cross-border payments processor Payoneer opened a new office in London to support growth in demand from U.K. businesses.

• Point-of-sale terminal maker PAX Technology Inc. released the S500 Terminal and EXT Paper Housing devices.

• Sequent Software Inc., a tokenization service provider, released an updated version of its Sequent Platform service.

• Net Element Inc. said its PayOnline subsidiary added Amsterdam-based Payvision in Europe to its partner network, expanding the company’s payment acceptance service to 120-plus currencies.

• Danal Inc., a vendor of mobile identity and authentication products, said it closed a strategic investment round with Bangkok Bank and Orange to expand its Mobile Identity Platform. Terms were not disclosed.

• Transaction Network Services has agreed to manage on its TNSLink solution the entire ATM fleet deployed by Australian ATM operator ATM2GO in a multiyear deal.
